Smokin' the ex

As the title suggest, I have finally become a little bit more creative! As in that I have actually drawn something! I am rather surprised with myself... Starting and finishing a drawing in the same day is unlike me, but at the other hand, I began drawing around 10pm, and now it is.... 3am. So it took me a good deal of a long time anyway. Either way, here is the drawing:

I came up with the random idea when I was thinking of drawing a character that was having a photo in her mouth. I wasnt sure how and in what context, but I quickly imagined that she was kind of "smoking" it with a matchstick close to it, but as seen on the picture, that was changed to a cigarette later (more to that in a momentos).
The story behind the piece is rather cliché; the girl was hurt by her ex, she kept the picture of him for a while, but then she decided to burn it in an untraditional way... By poking a cigarette to the picture while holding it in her mouth! Silly, I know, but I liked the idea anyway. :P
I found it cooler that she used a cigarette instead of a match, but I also like the idea with the match, yet it might look a little bit silly that way, I think, so I asked my slave, aka. boyfriend, for some help, although he is clueless when it comes to artwork, yet I think it was the right thing to do as he said with switcing out the match with a cigarette.
In case it isnt obvious, then I slightly choose the colors to fit the theme. I see orange as a fiery color like fire, so I put it together with "rage" or "anger" or "jealousy". While her green eyes and fingernails means more like a "break" on the anger or a fresh start, like a green sprout. Funny thing is, when I looked up the color meaning, they meant something totally different than I imagined:

Orange:
Positive: Steadfastness, courage, confidence, friendliness, and cheerfulness, warmth, excitement and energy
Negative: Ignorance, inferiority, sluggishness and superiority

Green:
Positive: Monëy, health, food, nature, hope, growth, freshness, soothing, sharing, and responsiveness
Negative: Envy, greed, constriction, guilt, jealousy and disorder

But I guess in the end we all have different ways to interpret things, right? Either way, I didnt really give the colors much thought, aside that the picture shouldnt be all orange/brownish, or else it wouldnt be able to catch your eyes, that is also why I choose green, mostly because it is complementary to red, which is also dominating the picture together with the orange, which makes it seem to stand out a lot. If you look for the green, then the green colors are mostly focused on areas that tells the story...
Her eyes are green, they look sad but they are leading you downwards and you will see the picture, check out the text, it says "I love you", but there is more green shit around it and its her nails, what is she holding in one of her hands? A lil cigarette to burn the crap out of the picture.
Oh yeah, did anyone notice the freckles and the fact she is a ginger? x) More red/orangeness ftw.

Wow, did I just spend half an hour writing an analysis of my own drawing? I think this is the first time I actually ever gave it that much thought to actually write a long ass of a wall of text to blab about a single picture... I think I should head to bed.
